Translating the Symbols of Triduum

The aim of this paper is to apply tools cognitive poetics for exploring religious hymns in the mentality contemporary Polish, Ukrainian and English speakers. texts under study are from Triduum which a very special time within Roman Catholic Passiontide. Latin originals as well translations used show how conceptual imagery transforms perceptive process, located between ancient text today’s views. process even more complicated when these interpreted by Orthodox Greek believers. Although biblical prototexts remain same, rite has elaborated their own theological hermeneutics mostly coincide with primary sacred language, i.e. Latin. It also interesting testify if whose nation belonged different Christian – liturgical tradition, can recode all semantic features values.
